In early 2012, Pilgrim Surf + Supply opened its doors in Williamsburg, Brooklyn on what was at that time a quiet corner near longtime neighbours and businesses. Over the years, the shop grew into a sort of gathering space, as well as a business, for surfers, friends and the community. The store hosted artists, filmmakers, musicians, writers, and surfers. Shortly after, Pilgrim the clothing brand got off the ground working with a few small factories in the Garment District. Around that same time, they partnered with Beams of Japan to pilot a residency in Tokyo. Since then, through this partnership, Pilgrim has opened stores in Tokyo and Kyoto, and the Pilgrim apparel collection has grown to what it is today.
